Journal Issue
Temblor ran to ten issues between 1985 and 1989, edited by Leland Hickman in North Hollywood. This is the tenth and final issue, published in 1989: forty-seven contents entries over 233 numbered pages, followed by the magazine’s cumulative index to issues 1–10. Long projects are the governing unit: Six Poems and the other excerpts or poem groups let serial form, accumulation, and return displace the self-contained magazine lyric. Taken together, the issue offers a cross-section of ongoing experimental practices—poetry, prose, translation, and performance sharing space without being reduced to a single school. The movement toward Winter Sequence at Jon’s House makes the issue’s close part of that design, leaving the final contribution to revise the pace established at the opening.
